FAQs

Is the Spot Pal FSA eligible?

No. We are not FSA eligible but we do recommend sending the receipt to your provider to see if reimbursement is possible.

Does Spot Pal replace a CPAP device?

Spot Pal does not replace a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine, but it can play an important role in addressing the root cause of some forms of sleep apnea.

CPAP is a well-established and effective treatment for moderate to severe sleep apnea, especially for individuals who experience significant obstruction in their airways during sleep. It works by keeping the airway open through continuous air pressure. However, CPAP mainly manages the symptoms without addressing the underlying issue—often, poor tongue posture and muscle weakness in the airway.

Spot Pal, on the other hand, focuses on tongue training to help reduce the collapse of soft tissues that may contribute to snoring and mild forms of sleep apnea. By strengthening the tongue and retraining it to rest in the correct position, Spot Pal helps prevent the tongue from falling back and blocking the airway, which is a common cause of snoring and mild sleep apnea.

For many patients, this may mean fewer symptoms, such as snoring and interrupted breathing, over time. However, for moderate to severe sleep apnea, Spot Pal should be considered a complementary therapy, not a replacement for CPAP. It addresses the root cause by improving muscle function and airway stability, but it’s always best to consult with your healthcare provider to determine which treatment is right for you.
